Monsoon Transformations

Monsoon season in New Mexico brought periods of heavy rain. Fascinated with the force of the rain hitting the earth I began to photograph and document the stages of the deluge. It became an analogy to intense emotional periods and the final stage of resolution/transformation and perhaps symbolic of renewal. All things change, no matter how intense, and eventually may disappear although the imprint often remains, sometimes visible and sometimes hidden.

Documenting water while living on a boat in San Juan Island, I recorded the texture and color of the Salish Sea.
