In The Midst of Grief
“Floating in a void. Missing that caring, comfortable space we created for each other.”
Susan Grabel
I am interested in capturing the stories of women, the stages of their grief through images that convey the passages in their personal story. This story is particularly close to me, Susan is my sister.
There is a clarity and a stillness that can be observed in the photographic capture. The viewer does not have to rush ahead. The images can offer a sense of solidarity and help create space for others, including myself, to process where they are in their story.

WATCHING HIM FADE AWAY WAS REALLY PAINFUL
FEELING THE OVERWHELMING VOID, THE EMPTINESS
IT COMES AND GOES, THE GRIEF
REMEMBERING HIS SMILE
IS THIS IT?
HOW DO I EVEN COMPREHEND THIS?
WHAT NOW?
